Map of Drumkeeran Cemetery

Available on-Line

An interactive map of Drumkeeran is now available on-line.

The map is not part of our parish web site.

Instead, it is hosted by a company called everafter.

This company carried out a survey of the cemetery at the end of August 2012.
The map is based on that survey.

The web site basically consists of two sections,
a database of all the deceased in the cemetery
and the interactive map of the cemetery.

Visitors to the site can search the database
by name, by townland, by age of the deceased
or by the approximate date of death of the deceased.

For example, the image above shows part of the result
for a search for the surname “Gallagher”.
The visitor is shown the name of every Gallagher buried in the cemetery,
the date of death, the plot number and a photo of the headstone at that plot.

The map of the cemetery is interactive.

By clicking on any plot on the map the visitor is given the details of those
buried in that plot, dates of death etc.

The visitor is also shown a photograph of the headstone.
Moving the cursor over the photo gives a close-up of the text on the headstone.

This is a test period for the web site map.
If, during this period, visitors notice any errors
they are asked to notify us.

Also, as further survey work is planned,
additional detail will be added to the map
over the coming months.

The map will be updated annually to take account
of recent burials.
