On Saturday, 12th April, twelve young people from our local national schools

celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation

in St Brigid’s Church, Drumkeeran.

The chief celebrant at the Confirmation Mass was
Very Rev Mgr Michael Cooke PP, Belturbet.

He was assisted by Fr Maurice McMorrow PP, Ballinaglera
and Fr Gerard Alwill PP, Drumkeeran.

The twelve children are:
Ryan Brolly, Darragh Fallon, Alan Gallagher, Ellen Gallagher, Ryan Gallagher,
Morgan Lawton, Daniel Maguire, Tom McCabe, Jordan McGovern,
Rachel McLoughlin, Leanne O’Donnell and Patrick O’Hara

Eleven of them attend Drumkeeran NS and one attends Tarmon NS.

In his words to the children Mgr Cooke spoke of Pope Francis.

He reminded them of two pieces of advice from the Pope.

The first of these was that they be happy people.

And the second was that they share their happiness with others.

Mgr Cooke asked them to follow Pope Francis’ advice to be happy
and to share that happiness at home, in school and in the community.
