Eight children celebrated their First Holy Communion on Sunday, May 18.

Children are

Francis Gallagher, Shane Gallagher, Kiara McGirl, Leonie McGovern,

Cian McManus, Dylan McManus, Katie McPadden and Cody O’Brien.

They are pictured above with their teacher, Ms Clerkin.

Speaking to the children, Fr Alwill explained that Holy Communion is a special gift from God,

a gift that they should treasure for all of their lives.

He thanked them for their participation in the prayers and the readings of the Mass.

He thanked their teacher, Ms Clerkin, for preparing them for this special day,

and he thanked the principal Mrs O’Keeffe and all the teachers in the school.

He also thanked Mrs O’Keeffe and Mrs O’Grady for their work with the school choir.

And he thanked the parents, above all, for guiding and helping their children on the journey of faith,

A journey that began on the day the children were baptised.
