The highlight of The John McKenna Traditional Festival 2014
was the launch of a CD of John McKenna’s music.
The CD was launched by well-
The CD consists of the complete collection of John McKenna’s commercial recordings,
numbering
78 in all,
as well as a booklet outlining his biography and his style of playing.
Sean Gilrane explained how the project came about
and thanked members of John McKenna’s
family for their support.
John McKenna’s great granddaughter spoke of the family’s appreciation
for all the
work done by the Society in promoting John McKenna and his legacy.
The Community Centre was full to capacity for the occasion.
