Drumkeeran NS Says Farewell to Mrs O’Keeffe



Mrs Máirín O’Keeffe and Ms Andrea Canning, Deputy-Principal


At a special Mass on 23rd June to mark the end of the school year

the pupils of Drumkeeran NS, their parents and the staff of the school

availed of the occasion to congratulate the school principal,

Mrs Máirín O’Keeffe,

on her recent appointment

as the new principal of St Patrick’s NS, Drumshanbo.


Speaking during the Mass parish priest, Fr Gerard Alwill
reminded those present that this was an occasion to thank God
for all the blessings that the pupils of the school had received
through the dedication, hard work and musical skills of Mrs O’Keeffe over sixteen years.

Chairperson of the Board of Management, Mrs Josephine White,
thanked Mrs O’Keeffe for her commitment as school principal
and for her endless energy as teacher of the senior classes.

Speaking of behalf of the parents, David McManus said that Drumshanbo’s gain
was most certainly Drumkeeran’s loss.

and extends to her the Board’s best wishes as she takes up her new post.
