Festival an outstanding Success

After so many years without a Summer Festival, there was widespread delight among the people of Drumkeeran that the recent Community Family Festival
proved to be such an outstanding success.

The Festival brought a great buzz of excitement to the area
and the large crowds that attended the main events thoroughly enjoyed the various entertainments.

The Festival opened on Tuesday 21st August with the presentations of GAA medals to the girls and boys football teams. (See GAA Medals)

The Marquee was pack on Wednesday evening for the Fashion Show.  This proved to be a very enjoyable night for all who attended. (See Fashion Show)

On Thursday evening there were Street Events followed by a Foam Party and Disco in the marquee.

The car treasure hunt scheduled for Friday evening had to be postponed due to a funeral.
However, the other events planned for the evening were able to proceed,
including the John Williams Memorial Pool tournament
and, later in the evening, the Festival Dance in the marquee.

Fortunately the sun shone on the outdoor activities over the weekend.
There was a Walking Treasure Hunt on Saturday afternoon
and a Family Fun Day in the GAA Park on Sunday afternoon.

On Saturday night the marquee was packed to overflowing as a huge crowd attended the Monster Bingo.

On Sunday, the good weather  certainly added to the numbers who turned out to enjoy the various events at the Family Fun Day.

The Festival concluded with the Closing Dance in the marquee.

Hearty congratulations to the Festival Organising Committee,
to all the volunteers who to helped in the smooth running of the various events
and to all the members of the community who turned out in such fine numbers to support their local Festival.
