Market Street

 

Shopkeeper:
There was only one shopkeeper on Market St, Catherine Flaherty (47).  

Publican:
Terence Kelly (34) was described as a “spirit merchant”.  His wife was Teresa (32) and they had two daughters, Mary Josephine and Anne Jane.  

Farmer:
Five people were described as farmers or farm labourers.  They were Myles Cassidy (46), John Flynn  (55), James Guihan (60), Stephen McGreal (45) and Francis Ward (54).

 

Others:
Tinsmith
:  Patrick Gorman (62) was a tinsmith.  His wife was Winifred (62).  

Hotel Waiters:  Patrick and Winifred Gorman’s three sons, Bernard (31), John (23) and James (19) sons were described as “hotel waiters”  

Seamstress:  Ellen Maguire (50), a widow, was a seamstress.  

Photographer:  Joseph Gallagher (30), brother-in-law of publican Terence Kelly was recorded as a “photographic artist”.  He lived with Terence and Teresa Kelly.
