Visits Drumkeeran

Rt Revd Ferran Glenfield,

the recently appointed bishop of Kilmore, Ardagh and Elphin,

visited Drumkeeran on Sunday, 13th October.


The bishop attended and preached at
the Annual Harvest Thanksgiving Service in Drumkeeran Parish Church.

Bishop Ferran Glenfield was elected Bishop
by the Episcopal Electoral College for Kilmore, Elphin and Ardagh
on the 4th February 2013.
He was consecrated on Friday 31st May 2013 in Armagh Cathedral
and Enthroned in St. John's Cathedral, Sligo on Sunday 9th June 2013
and St. Fethlimidh's Cathedral, Kilmore on Sunday 16th June 2013.

Previous to his appointment he was Rector of Hillsborough Parish (Down Diocese)



The service was led by the Revd Brendan McCarthy,
the recently appointed minister to the Church of Ireland parishes in the Manorhamilton area.

Mr Albert Dawson and Fr Gerard Alwill assisted.

The large congregation almost filled the church
and consisted of members of the local Church of Ireland parish
as well as friends from the neighbouring parishes.
Members of the local Catholic community were also in attendance.





After the service Bishop Ferran and Revd Brendan
met with members of the congregation outside the church.
and then joined them for refreshments in Lough Allen College
